Greenwood Wrestler Rob Arnett Makes His Pro MMA Debut

Rob ArnettFor Rob “No Leftovers” Arnett, wrestling was his first avenue for athletic competition but he since has decided to jump on the mixed martial arts freeway.
The 2005 graduate of Greenwood High School and 2010 Wabash College graduate has wrestled since his freshman year at Greenwood. But after becoming a fan of UFC at a young age, Arnett wanted an opportunity in that sport.
Bad Example’s UFC 118 Prediction Hangover

In a case straight from Invasion of the Body Snatchers, the UFC has issued a missing persons alert for Gabe Ruediger, Marcus Davis, Kenny Florian, Mario Miranda, James Toney, and BJ Penn.
While all six of the fighters showed up to Friday’s weigh-in, none of the six showed up to their respective fights on Saturday. Reports of their disappearance starting surfacing as soon as the bell rang in each bout.

Since the popularity of the UFC has risen it has always been compared to the lucrative and historic sport of boxing. As time has passed many boxers have given their opinion on the UFC and MMA. Some of them have praised it and others have laughed at it, but the fact remained people still compared the two sports. Thus begs the question which is better MMA or boxing. This once unanswered question now has a chance of being answered as newly signed, 3 division boxing champion of the world James “Lights Out” Toney takes on UFC hall of famer and MMA veteran Randy “The Natural” Couture this Saturday night at UFC 118 in Boston.
April Penrod’s Fight for Life VIII (8)

This past weekend pro fighter April Penrod (1-0), hosted an action packed, fist pumping, no holds barred, charity promotion in Mount Vernon, Illinois. The event was held at the Holiday Inn Express hotel. The promotion was so fittingly named Fight 4 Life VIII, as the proceeds benefited multiple sclerosis. The money raised from this event was donated to the HOPE Pageant (also held in Mount Vernon) the following day, who was also donating all of the money raised to the same cause. Not only was the promotion a huge success for the fighter’s, but for the fundraiser as well. The show sold a satisfying number of tickets, and the fight card was prospering with promising fighter’s.

Hardrock MMA 25, “Night of the Champions 3,” was held on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at the Paroquet Springs Conference Centre in Shepherdsville, Ky.
