Brutal head kick DQ video | Hardrock MMA 43 | Kentucky MMA
Hardrock MMA 43 was an exciting event and CageCraze.com was at the cage for all of the action, including a brutal disqualification in the second bout of the evening. Chad Sermon (3-2) and Brian Kerr (5-11) had engaged in a vicious war of words leading up to their fight and the drama accompanied them to the cage. When the fight began, Sermon crouched down a la Jon “Bones” Jones and stalked Brian Kerr as he slapped the mat. Kerr was not in the mood for games and unleashed a brutal kick that crumpled Sermon to the mat. Sermon was ruled the winner via disqualification, but few people would have switched places with him to get that “W.” Watch the video below and leave us a comment about what you see.
Reports from Sermon’s family are that Sermon suffered serious injuries from the kick and will need surgery. Stay tuned for more information on Chad’s condition. UPDATE: The decision was overturned, this bout is officially a “No Contest.”

Get a new camera man. Can’t tell what’s going on for all the twisting and turning. Jesus…come on…
Going back to the fight. I was there and I was cage-side. His hand left the mat while he was bobbing up and down and moving to his opponent. I find it hard to believe that Blue (blue corner) would have unleashed a kick like that without knowing that the hand was up.

He wasn’t down the fight just started…I think he got what he deserved…knowing only what I saw there the kid was being a douche.. Tryi g to avoid getting kicked by dragging a hand on the grou d is almost as bad as starting the fight on your back… And I agree the kid brought his hand up numerous times as he crossed the cage

It’s funny how you have made a story out of this without even asking Chad what his intentions were. Everyone keeps saying that he was depending on the rules and that is not what his intentions were. Cage Craze, get your story straight. Thanks for asking CHAD how he is. He did NOT suffer a broken nose and is Ok. He has some serious injuries and does not deserve to be crucified like this. But I guess you will say anything to have a story, huh?

@Amanda How does cage craze have the story wrong? How do they have anything to do with him being crucified? They just posted the video and the story staying completely mutual…… Did I miss something? Isn’t their job to cover the fights? Doesn’t covering the fights market the fighters which gets them more fights? uhhh I don’t get your whining…

Amanda, I did not make this a story, the fighters involved (and the fans) made this into the story it has become. I did not make any attempt to crucify Chad. I remained neutral in this post and in the coverage of the event. The report of a broken nose came directly from the promoter. Since you are Chad’s wife I will take your word over that of everyone else. I would like to offer you and Chad a platform (CageCraze.com) to get his side of the story (his intentions) out to the MMA community. Please contact me at clcunn01@cagecraze.com and we can get all of the details straight. Thank you for responding to this post, if anything we posted was inaccurate you can rest assured we will get it corrected.

I was at the match, it was brutal, but let’s stick to the simple facts and stay away from too much sensationalism. Chad Sermon attempted a strategy that simply did not work. He paid the price for it with a busted head. Any question of his bravery is insane, he tried to continue the fight with a fractured skull for crying out loud ! Brian Kerr on the other hand, kicked a man when he was down ! For whatever reason you want to think, that’s what he did. Then he didn’t have the decency to apologize to Chad, or his family, at any time after the match. That says a lot more about his character, and why he is (5 -11), than what happened in the cage. There is supposed to be honor in the fight, let’s not lose track of that please.
