Colosseum Combat 19, which featured UFC veteran Shamar Bailey in his first fight since his release from the UFC, took place this past Saturday, January 7, 2012, in Kokomo, Indiana. The event had been ranked as the number one non-UFC fight card to watch by espn.com and the number two “tussles worth watching” by sherdog.com. The card featured a number of up-and-coming fighters, as well as fight veterans including Bodog veteran (and Bailey’s opponent) Darrell Smith, James Porter, Cory Mahon, and Jacob Hurlock. Mark Slater’s Colosseum Combat 19 lived up (and possibly surpassed) it’s “hype” as each fight rewarded fans with true wars in the cage.
