HFC 10 Results | Hoosier Fight Club
The sold out HFC 10 lived up to its ticket sales and gave the fans their money’s worth. Promoter Danielle Vale along side of husband and matchmaker, Paul Vale really lived up to all the hype surrounding Hoosier Fight Club 10. With one of, if not the best amateur cards we’ve seen to date, accompanied by a stacked professional card and a controversial main event, the Vale’s (and crew) really raised the bar with this one. HFC 10 | Amateur Bouts:
Jacob Morales vs. Cody Conley
Conley opens up with a few high kicks before Morales returns fire with some hard punches. Conley is able to take Morales down and works from within his guard. Morales is able to standup against the cage but leaves his back exposed, to which Conley takes advantage of and puts his hooks in. Conley gets too high and is shook off into guard, the round ends with Morales working from within Conley’s guard. The second round begins with more body kicks from Conley and a few hard punches. Morales is able to find some success working behind a superman punch and following it up with some left hands. Morales is able to land a good combination that pressures Conley into the cage, he follows up with a double leg slam just before the close of the round. Conley opens the third round with more body kicks, Morales is able to find a home for his punches on Conley’s chin but nothing stops Conley from pressing forward. Morales is able to take Conley’s back after ducking a punch and is able to sink in his hooks and eventually the rear naked choke, forcing the tap. Jacob Morales wins via submission (rear naked choke) at 1:53 of round 3.
Jonathan Ciavirelli vs. Shaun-Ryan Sanchez
Sanchez comes out guns blazing looking for the knockout landing hooks and power shots at will. Ciavirelli is all but out on his feet after taking a crazy amount of punches. After a kick runs wild and hits the groin of Sanchez a break in the action occurs. After the break in the action the momentum shifts as Ciavirelli comes out with 3 consecutive head kicks that rock Sanchez, Ciavirelli pounces with punches and gets Sanchez to the ground and his back. Ciavirelli loses position and winds up in guard and locks up a tight guillotine that Sanchez is saved by the bell. Round two starts with Ciavirelli landing a hard punches then rushes Sanchez but is met with a well-timed double leg takedown. Ciavirelli is able to create enough space within his guard to lock up a guillotine choke. Sanchez is not saved by the bell with this one and is forced to tap. Jonathan Ciavirelli wins via submission (guillotine choke) at 1:51 in round 2.
James Frasure II vs. Eli Cantu
Frasure controls the center of the cage finding a home for a hard rear leg kick that seems to effect Cantu after a couple of meetings. Both fighters battle for position against the cage with Frasure working for the takedown eventually getting it. Frasure postures up and lands a few punches before the end of the round. The beginning of round starts with Frasure controlling the pace landing and avoiding much of Cantu’s attack. Frasure continues to get the better of the exchanges even when Cantu finds his mark Frasure lands the better and harder of the strikes. Both fighters are content to stand toe to toe and trade, but after the doctor is called in to check the cuts above Cantu’s eye, he rules him unable to continue. James Frasure wins via doctor stoppage due to cuts at 2:39 of round 2.
Miguel Garza vs. Michael Manns
Manns walks through Garza’s early punches and utilizes a thai clinch to land a couple knee’s. Both fighters battle for position against the cage trading takedown attempts before Manns can finally get Garza to his back. Almost immediately Garza throws up a tight triangle attempt. After a few slam attempts from Manns, Garza switches over to an armbar but runs out of time to finish the submission. Manns comes out fast to start the second round to clinch Garza against the cage. After utlilizing some hard knee’s to the thighs of Garza, Manns is able to get a takedown against the cage. Manns works from the guard, Garza turtles but Manns cannot take advantage before the end of the round. Round three begins with Garza landing a crisp combination right into a takedown. Manns is able to wall walk and return to this feet and return the takedown. Garza throws up his hips first for a triangle, then for an armbar attempt. After a long struggle Manns is able to work his way free before the close of the round. The first fight to goto the judges, and they score it 29-27 all for Miguel Garza for a unanimous decision.
Nathan Wacnik vs. Christopher Malamatos
Wacnik is first to land consistently with a few leg kicks and eventually a comibination of punches that back Malamatos into the cage. Malamatos is able to turn Wacnik against the cage and get a takedown. Wacnik works for a majority of the round for a guillotine choke but cannot seem to get the leverage to finish before Malamatos works his head free near the conclusion of the round. Wacnik is able to open round 2 by landing some good punches on Malamatos. After losing the exchanges, Malamatos looks for his second takedown. Malamatos is successful but is met with another guillotine choke, this one he cannot find a way out of it. Nathan Wacnik wins via submission (guillotine choke) at 1:21 of round 2.
