Sean McCorkle returns to the Legends of Fighting Championship in the main event for LFC 48 “Mega.” This will be McCorkles second fight since being released from the UFC as he’s coming off a win against Cameron Befort July 23rd at CFA via his signature Kimura Submission.  McCorkle (11-2) is set to square off with Alex Rozman (3-13) who is also coming off of a win against Trevor Bennett via TKO.

With 15 other fights on the card it should be a non stop, action packed event. CageCraze.com Featured Fighter Josh Kinser is set to take on Bryan Neville in the professional portion of this event.

Amateur Bouts:

 

Jason Stroud vs Eddie Crister

Both fighters meet in the middle of the cage but neither land anything.  Crister clinches Stroud against the fence and forces the fight to the ground.  Stroud is able to set up a triangle choke and after a brief struggle he forces Crister to tap.  Jason Stroud wins via  submission (triangle choke) at 1:20 of round 1.

Cameron Van Camp vs Joe Lile Jr.

Lile paws with his jab and avoids early takedowns that weren’t set up by Van Camp. Lile lands a clean combination that forces Van Camp to clinch and get the fight to the ground.  Van Camp works from within guard while defending submission attempts from Lile.  The round ends with Van Camp defending and armbar attempt from Lile.  Round 2 begins quickly as Van Camp shoots in for another takedown but is countered by Lile who takes his back and locks in the rear naked choke just seconds into the second round.  Joe Lile Jr. wins via submission (rear naked choke) at :24 into the second round.

Donnie Bishop vs. Brad Woods

Woods is quick to take Bishop down and winds up in side control. Woods then transitions from knee on belly to mount where he finishes the fight with ground and pound from the top position.  Brad Woods wins via ref stoppage due to strikes at 1:12 of round 1.

Keandre Howard vs Chad Eaton

Howard lands with his jab first and after a brief combination Eaton forces the action to the cage.  Howard is able to counter Eaton’s takedown attempt and wind up in his half guard.  Eaton is able to get back to his feet and clinches Howard against the fence for the remainder of the round.  Round 2 begins with both fighters standing toe-to-toe in the center of the cage until Howard begins to whither to the heavy punches of Eaton and drags Eaton to the ground.  After taking some hard punches the ref steps in to call and end to the bout.  Chad Eaton wins via ref stoppages due to strikes at :53 of round 2.

Baughman controls the action on the feet and forces Blair to look for a takedown but is unsuccessful.  Baughman passes to mount and postures up, where he starts to rain down punches till Blair is able to escape to a turtled position.  Baughman is able to land successful unanswered punches that force the ref to step in.  Jeremy Baughman wins via ref stoppage due to unanswered strikes at 2:36 in round 1.

Jonny Neville vs. James Bub

Neville avoids some one-two combos from Bub and is able to takedown Bub against the cage.  Bub is able to lock up an armbar and get the tap.  James Bub wins via submission (armbar) at 1:15 of round 1.

 Fight of the Night

Lloyd Thorton vs. Donald Wright

Donald Wright is able to take down and works from guard while Thornton throws up numerous submission attempts but is unsuccessful before the close of the round.  Round 2 begins with Thornton landing a head kick and jumping to Wrights back as he shoots in for a takedown.  Thornton gets too high and is shook off the top by Wright.  Both fighters fight for position for the remainder of the round. Round number 3 starts Thornton landing a crisp combo that puts Wright on his heels and tumbling backwards to the ground.  Thornton is able to take the back of Wright, but is unable to maintain position and winds up with Wright in his guard where he stays for the rest of the round.  The fight goes to the judges.  The judges score it 29-28 unanimously all for Donald Wright.  Donald Wright wins via unanimous decision (29-28).

Kevin Groff vs. Shawn Bottoms

Bottoms connects early with a left hook and is able to takedown Groff.  Bottoms soon transitions to the back of Groff where he looks to land strikes.  Bottoms is able to lock in a rear naked choke and coax Groff to tap soon after applying the submission.  Shawn Bottoms wins via submission (rear naked choke) at 1:19 in round 1.

Houston lands to stiff jabs and Jones engages a thai clinch and lands a knee to the groin of his opponent.  After the break in action Jones unleashes some hard hooks to the head of Houston that open up a cut above the left eye. After a brief exchange on the ground Jones backs away and lets Houston return to his feet.  Houston is able to lock up a guillotine after Jones shoots in and is able to finish the submission with a tap.  JB Houston wins via submission (guillotine choke) at 4:38 in round 1.

Daniel Nuttall vs Joe Neace 

The fighters miss early strikes and work their way into a clinch against the cage with Nuttal pressuring Neace. Nuttal stuffs a shot and works from the front headlock position before Neace pulls guard.  Nuttal works a far side kimura but Neace is able to defend and work his way to his feet.  Nuttall unleashes a flurry and punches and knees with Neace covering up against the fence and eventually the ground.  After taking too many unanswered punches the ref steps in to stop the fight.  Daniel Nuttall wins via ref stoppage due to strikes at 4:39 in round 1.

Kinser quickly gets the fight to the ground with a double leg takedown.  Kinser transitions to mount and locks up a head and arm choke after landing  some hard punches.  Josh Kinser wins via submission (arm triangle) at 1:53 in round 1.

Submission of the Night

Tom Osbourne vs Matt Wilson

Osbourne is able to land a right hand after a crazy jump off the cage move that doesn’t land.  The right hand stuns Wilson, Osbourne capitalizes with a right hook then a left.  He then jumps to the back and locks in a rear naked choke and gets the tap.  Tom Osbourne wins via submission (rear naked choke) at :36 of round 1.

Kurt Kinser vs Jason Buck

They clinch immediately and work against the cage.  Buck is able to take Kinser down and land in half guard.  After no action on the ground the ref returns them to their feet.  Both fighters start swinging for the fences as they return to action.  A cut opens up on the head of Buck that starts to cover both fighters in blood.  Buck pulls guard for a guillotine but slips off and Kinser follows him to the ground.  Kinser starts to unload with vicious elbows from guard that open up several cuts to the face of Buck.  After inspection by the doctor he declares Buck unfit to fight.  Kurt Kinser wins via doctor stoppage (cuts) at the end of round 1.

Rozman lands some hooks early but is met with some hard right hands from McCorkle that don’t taste good.  McCorkle takes Rozman down at will and lands in half guard.  Rozman turtles up and after taking some punches from McCorkle he is forced to tap.  Sean McCorkle wins via tapout due to strikes at 1:29 of round 1.
