With the Tachi Tourney Round One complete, It has fans on the edge wanting to know the lineup for Round two. But, before we exclusively announce the Tachi Tourney round two lineup, let’s take a look at round one.
Tom McKenna came into the Tachi Tourney to make a statement, and that he did. Finishing Quinn Bloomfield in just under three minutes (2:52) with a Brabo Choke. McKenna proved that he is not one to be taken lightly, (especially on the ground).
In the second bout of the Tachi Touney, Alp Ozkilic and Andrew Huffman clearly showed up with opposite game plans which led to a three round battle. Huffman wanted to keep the fight standing, but Ozkilik on the other hand, wanted to use his elite wrestling skills in taking the fight to the ground. In the end, the judges reward Ozkilic the unanimous decision, advancing him into the semifinals of the Tachi Tourney.
In the third fight of the tournament quarterfinals Chico Camus and Daniel Aguirre gave the crowd a technical back and forth battle which took place primarily on the ground. Camus scored points for repeatedly taking the fight to the ground, and his third round display of ground and pound won the judges over as they awarded him with the unanimous decision. Chico Camus advances into round two of the Tachi Tourney.
In the final bout of the Tachi Tourney round one, Christopher Collins and Ruddy Gray took the cage. Collins initiated the battle with a flurry and looked to finish the fight early in round one. Gray had other plans as he turned the heat up with a few hard punches and knees that seemingly rocked Collins. Collins responded with a bout-ending Guillotine choke at 3:42 of the first round, securing his spot in the Tachi Tourney Round Two.
